I love to make paintings because it helps me with processing difficult emotions and situations that are happening now in my life.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I really enjoy painting in a simplified way. I make representational paintings bridging with abstraction. The emphasis is on calligraphy, brush strokes, surface quality, color, tone and laying of the paint down on the surface I am working on.
Where do you find inspiration?I gather my inspiration in nature, music and in passing wherever I am. Open fields, sounds found in nature such as songbirds, thunderstorms, rain, crunching of leaves and snow beneath my boot a city street at night on a Thursday or Friday. Listening to Eric Satie or Billie Holiday in my studio.
What would you do with $25,000?The 25,000 dollars would help me with paying my studio rent and materials for making paintings and would allow more time for me to be in the studio to make the work.
