I create art as an expression of deep emotions. Art is beautiful because no matter what creature or person you are feelings arise.

I work in mixed media most of the time. This consists of mixed media paper, copic markers, posca paint pens, and micron pens. I love adding layers to my artwork. Which is why I use the micron pens for my line work, then copics to fill in the base color, then I add on the posca paint pens for more texture and depth. Finally at the end of my work I use gellyroll gell pens for final details and shine. Creating each work by hand is the way I always create and always will.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the world around me. Specifically through deep feelings and connections. For example I have always been a person who feels deeply and that is often seen as a negative thing. When you feel deeply with positivity you also can feel negativity deeply. So through my own and others lives I draw inspiration. This can come out in political artwork of all the injustice in this world. It can also come out in the form of beauty and nature that lives within our universe.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the the prize to help my son have a future. Im currently homeless and it's my son, husband, and I. We lost our home because we couldn't afford it. Im hoping if I win this I'll be able to buy my family a home to grow up in. He just turned 4 and hasn't started school yet but he has such a bright future. He enjoys to draw as much as his mama. Im hoping if I win not only can I help his future with stability in a home but I can show him anything is possible through art.
