My favorite type of art to create is large-scale mixed media work. I am drawn to pieces that command a presence in a space - art that demands attention and invites people in. Working in mixed media allows me to build layers of texture while incorporating unexpected elements, so the piece continues to reveal something new each time it is viewed.
Where do you find inspiration?I find most of my inspiration in nature and color. I am especially drawn to palettes found in the wild - flowers, sunsets, trees and the natural world. I like to translate those influences into abstract landscapes that evoke a sense of peace, contrasting with my more energetic mixed media work. Color is really the driving force behind it all.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to begin building my own gallery space. Art has always been a central part of my life, and I want to create a space where others can experience the emotions and connections it inspires. My goal is to design a space that encourages people to explore their own creativity and see the world through a more expressive lens. With my vision and voice, I believe I can create a gallery that offers a fresh perspective, inviting people to engage with art in a more meaningful way.
