What is your favorite type of art to create?

I have multitudes of ways that I love to create. I've been playing harmonica since I was a teenager, I have been working on an indie film. I have written a book since 2015 called Enormously Small Realizations.. But when it comes to expressing the way the world looks and feels to me.. there is nothing better than to paint messy, large, lively subject matter. It fills my soul and makes me walk in circles, and makes my brain turn. It gets my thoughts and my feet moving. It makes the world me sense.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in the tiles of Lisbon. The motels in America of the 1950s. The tobacco fields of Maryland. The eyes of horses, the smoke coming from a woman's cigarette. The laughter of a child. The feeling of being sunburnt. White linen. I get inspiration from grandmothers drinking wine, from the way the colours change in autumn leaves. All these inspirations of life just being life, translate into my work and most the time come out in a feminine narrative. A small story in a big world.

What would you do with $25,000?

I have my first European gallery show opportunity and everything is funded by myself. I would love to finish this series, get it stretched, then go on to Mongolia to ride horses and record and journal the whole experience for a new series. Then I would like to join an artist residency to finish the series. I have inspiration and motivation running through my veins, especially this year. One of the only limitations is my wallet. $25,000 and amazing exposure would change my life. In magical ways.
