Both oil paintings and ceramics hold a big place in my heart. I love making bowls ,and mugs for family or friends. Oil paint because of its diversity, if I want to paint a landscape I can, a blue whale I can, anything if I put my mind to it. It also has helped me learn patience, waiting for the paint to dry gives me time to step back and look at what I created, to admire it, to feel it.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in weird ways, I saw a whales eye and thought of how cool it would be to paint. I see inspiration in every frame my eyes see, a sunset, the ocean, a funny looking bird, and even my bunny. Inspiration does comes hard sometimes, especially if I look to hard for it. During those times it's actually a blank canvas that inspires me, the potential of what could be.
What would you do with $25,000?I would donate part of it, to getting a new kiln for my high school, new art supplies, and to kids who need help. Also to my old school to the wonderful art directors who helped me realize my love of art, and theatre. Some would go to my own needs as an artist, to my family and friends, and especially to my bunny.
