I’ve been painting and drawing since I was 3 years old so my whole life has been built around art and music.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite is oil on canvas and that’s what I spend the majority of my time working on. I love pastels for the vibrancy of the colors and the speed of the work. I also enjoy using watercolors and gouache.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in a lot of different places. I love going to the St. Louis Art Museum and wandering around looking at paintings by the masters. There’s a painting there by Paul Cornoyer called Plaza after rain which always blows my mind and makes me want to be a better painter. Great music always inspires me. A great movie, a beautiful sunset, my girlfriend’s smile. Also sad times can be very inspirational for me. I’ve always found heartbreak to be very useful in art and music.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly I would probably buy a couple more guitars and take my girlfriend to Paris and hang around Montmartre with the street artists and drink beer.
