I love the process, whether drawing, building, song writing or restoring old cars, creating and sharing with other people brings me joy.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating abstract, found object assemblage and mixed media. I also enjoy writing songs and composing music as Casual Rivalry. I started creating digital art in the early 2000's and have used that skill for my graphic design business. Restoration of my 1960 Cadillac may not count as art in the traditional sense, but creative problem solving and critical thinking has been a valuable tool to move that project forward.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in music, movies, found objects, movie props, abstract paintings and comic book art. I love finding interesting antique objects and working out how to use them as part of a painting or assemblage project. It's so satisfying to transform something ordinary into something new and different, which was definitely inspired by the way special effects shops used to make props in the early days of film.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I'd donate $2,000 to The Art of Elysium to help in their mission and I'd use part of the money to upgrade my computer so I can work more efficiently on music and graphic design projects. A portion would go to moving to a place where I can set up an art and music studio. And if there's any left over, I'd like to invest it for future rainy day projects.
