I prefer to employ a kind of visionary, surrealist style to depict deep feelings, emotions, and concepts; deep spiritual and intellectual ideas are my favorite things to depict specifically because they're things many artists don't often depict in their work.
Where do you find inspiration?I try to find inspiration from many diverse sources: I sometimes get it from an interesting passage or even a single sentence from this or that book; I sometimes get it from observing the natural world around me; sometime my wife gives me ideas. Inspiration can come from everywhere and anywhere; what's important is what the artist does with that inspiration. All else follows from that.
What would you do with $25,000?I suppose, first and foremost, my wife and I would leap for joy at having something we haven't had for many years: some measure of financial security. Obviously, some we would save against future emergencies; a portion we would use for a vacation or something else that we would truly enjoy; but the majority of it we would use to fund future art, because though I would continue to paint whether I won or not (because that's who I am), it's easier when it's easier to obtain the needed art supplies.
