My work serves as an outlet for processing years of trauma, healing, and grief.

My self-portrait photographs are created in both natural and obscure settings, where I place myself as the central figure within emotionally charged scenes. A sense of detachment emerges as I become the subject, allowing feeling to be conveyed through color, environment, and symbolic props. Through intentional composition, style, and atmosphere, my work becomes a form of psychological catharsis transforming emotion into visual narrative and personal reflection.
Where do you find inspiration? My work is shaped by life’s defining experiences such as death, divorce, trauma, soul repair, and shadow work. Though rooted in heavy subject matter, each image reflects the breakthrough and transformation found within those moments. My process involves extensive sketching, writing, and journaling, allowing emotions to surface and guide the direction of each series. Inspiration is never forced; it unfolds naturally as feelings communicate and flow through the creative process.
What would you do with $25,000?The $25,000 would help establish a small community darkroom and gallery that brings together local artists from diverse backgrounds while fostering creative connection and collaboration. I hope to create an inclusive space where underserved communities have access to workshops, classes, and artistic resources, ensuring students and emerging artists can explore, learn, and grow within a supportive creative environment.
