There are feelings or experiences that words can't express or explain. I can connect with myself and with others through art. Art saved me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I'm mostly drawn to creating emotion-driven abstract work, passionate expressions or a story of inner healing or transformation. It tends to be more about the message I'm trying to give or connection I'm trying to make. Quality is also important to me. I've invested a lot in trying to make sure I've provided top quality materials (the canvases, the paint brushes, the mixed Media tools, the paint...etc.) Oil painting has been my go to recently.
Where do you find inspiration?Honestly, my strongest source is already within me. My emotions in real time, it's raw material, and my work becomes powerful because it's honest, not perfect. My past and healing journey, moments of contrast at times (inner battles), my consideration of other's feelings. I get inspirations with the little things in life, examples: the different color tones on a leaf, the details in a wood carving, the dept in a conversation, the beauty in someone's facial expression.
What would you do with $25,000?Invest in my art buisness/brand, build a community of artist (the world needs to see more art/artist), travel to art retreats, Learn/expand in the art/buisness world. Create a community of other single parents who want to start a buisness, gift a little space for self care without survival pressure, finally make a difference in the world as an artist, open up my own gallery, and donate/sponsor/collaborate with organization that want to stop child abuse and human trafficking.
