I love capturing moments in nature that inspire me to slow down, and take a deep breath. To remember that as complex as humans are, we are merely creatures living on this amazing planet along side the birds, the bees, the flowers and the trees. When others say things about my art like "I want to walk down that path", or "I can almost smell the forest", I know I've inspired them to not only admire nature, but to remember they are part of it. That's my favourite type of art to create!

I find inspiration absolutely everywhere I go! I'm fascinated by nature, and every day I'm presented with new skies, new perspectives, and new concepts for my work. I'm inspired by what is real. My paintings tend to highlight the imperfections and unique moments that make nature beautiful. A crooked tree, a mossy log, the sun shining through the trees on a quiet misty morning. These moments make me feel grounded, and remind me it's ok to embrace my own beautiful imperfections.

My studio is a small spare bedroom in my home, and since my very first arts festival last August, I'm quickly outgrowing it, and could really use a bigger studio space to work in! It's honestly not about the money though. As an emerging artist who is still finding her feet, it is an honor just to be considered. That being said, $25,000 would be enough for me to have a proper studio where I can have room to spread my wings and continue to grow as an artist, and space to teach workshops.
