ERIN L MULRY

I create art to wake up the lazy muses, relax on a Sunday, stay Peachy, escape the real world, attract magic, and to seek Cultural Gravity.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love to create collage. My degree is in Illustration from RISD where I also studied film. I like to draw, paint with watercolor, acrylic and oil and cut and combine found papers and imagery to my drawings using decoupage techniques. I also dabble in other art forms, I have artistic seasons where I get into projects. For example I perform in plays, learn choreography and even direct. Lately I have been into experimenting with some AI as a tool. During the day I teach art to public school kids.

Where do you find inspiration?

I get inspired by things that I find beautiful. I like philosophy, I like things that examine human connection and make me pause about this experience on earth. I also just really get jazzed by the magic of fashion and Hollywood. I work a lot with children and organizing their energetic pure creation into things that can be put on display or shared with their families. I also have a couple of vintage boats that I like to be on in the Providence Marina, which is a vibe in itself. I love the water

What would you do with $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to explore, generally enjoy life, get inspired and put on an art show with my friends. $25,000 would go a long way to continue to explore my artistic endeavors and collabs. My dream is to actually get my vintage 45’ boat to have working engines and to host a happening on the Rhode Island bay.
