I create Art to leave an imprint upon the world to leave it a better place than how I found it, to be an inspiration to my children
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating anything with bright colors that pushes emotion! There is always a featured human, animal, or abstract subject. That is the main focal point, but it is never without purpose. One of my most popular creations is a colorful giraffe painted in acrylic on stretch canvas, featuring very bright colors that blend realism and fiction. I really try to bring out my soul and paint it on the canvas. It is my outlet, my therapy, and most of all my PURPOSE.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration comes from within, always, depending on my mood. My mood is a direct reflection of what goes on the canvas. I also love to paint, and I'm inspired by iconic musicians who have heavily influenced who I am today. My children are also huge influences on each other when it comes to creating. I’m showing them that you can live this life and do what makes you happy every day and beat depression and darkness with art.
What would you do with $25,000?I would open up my own art and music studio in downtown Sacramento and make it a place where musicians can get their feet on the ground, especially in the jazz world. I would love to create a safe space for kids who can’t afford one of their own or aren't allowed to create in their own homes. Kids are the future. I feel like so many don’t get the opportunity to experience the creative world of art.
