I love creating art that tells a story, a feeling or memory. I love to create really large pieces because to me, It’s interesting how it becomes a part of the community, a part of the emotional landscape of neighborhood, something grounding in someone’s busy day. Art can bring us out of our head and back into our bodies, into an experience into this moment.
Where do you find inspiration?My inspiration definitely comes from my lived experience and the natural world. Especially growing up in a very busy city where nature is around us, but we might have to look a little harder. I think it’s beautiful to see the how nature can remind us can remind us that we are part of something bigger. I’m also Inspired by how people experience different things and how that translates into a visual piece.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would be a game changer for me. My work supports my family (4kids) so it would help to get a car as I’m limited in my reach to where I can work, so I would probably take some of the money to Get a good but used car. Id use another portion of the money to take my family for very deserved mini vacation and I would also use some money to fund a community art installation.
