While it’s not directly part of my current work, I enjoy creating collages from disparate elements and using them for reference while painting.
Where do you find inspiration?That is a difficult question. Inspiration can come from anything and without notice. These are typically the best ideas. The ideas that just appear to you that you don’t have to work to manifest. I have had the most success with the ideas that come to me while I am going about a mindless daily routine (shower, brushing teeth, dishes) when my mind is more free to wonder. Or my mind can trail off while watching a film and take another path than the movie has intended.
What would you do with $25,000?I would likely invest it in myself/business. I would like to buy a large construction trailer and fix it up so I could have a mobile gallery. I have always loved the idea of having gorilla art shows/pop up galleries. A good way to expose art to people in a more accessible and unexpected way. The trailer would make the venture free from a daunting overhead like a lease or utilities. Removing the pressure/focus of a reoccurring income would keep the business part separate from the art which iskey
