What is your favorite type of art to create?

I really enjoy making manga and using dip pens, which has been a focus of mine for a year and half. I get in touch with my inner child (nerdy manga) and it's a safe space to mess up and stumble around. I also enjoy drawing from observation which is a skill of mine that allows me to focus and work through personal issues by getting lost in it. It's also a great way to experiment with new mediums and push my skills.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find my inspiration from the nature in Michigan. I try to implement things I I enjoy it things I find into my art. I enjoy taking hikes, movies and reading. Mostly sci-fi and fantasy (ursula le gun, gene wolf, c.s.lewis are top 3 inspirations, and lately I've been trying my hand at writing) and old timey manga (Osamu Tezuka, Shigeru Mizuki) all of which are things I tap into when I show up to the desk and paper.

What would you do with $25,000?

I'd repay my mother for the frame she helped with for the driftwood piece I entered into art prize, reinvest a portion/savings, find a studio space.
