My favorite type of art to create is art that is functional and provides a starting point for families and investigators to connect (Forensic art). Creating faces on skeletal remains and postmortem images in hopes of gaining an identification. I also highly enjoy tattooing animals, horror and paranormal themes in Neotraditional and realism styles. I love incorporating skeletal elements into my work.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere, whether it’s from forensic casework (for tattoo themes) or from police departments or morgues who have reached out to thank me for assisting in cases in forensic art. Giving a name to someone’s unidentified remains and bringing that person home knowing I helped in that process because someone recognized my drawing is priceless and it keeps me going.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the money to cover the client cost of tattoos that are needed to help someone recover— whether adding areolae on women who have undergone mastectomies or helping veterans hide their physical scars. These people have already battled and endured enough, therefore, they would pay nothing to have these tattoos completed.
