While my favorite type of art to create is technically film, I believe film to be the combination of all art. Photography, color, sound design, theatre, fashion, writing and many many more artistic practices are each essential to making exceptional films. Every step in filmmaking exposes more to be discovered. Each element of a film is an immersive niche you can dive into, the cinematography, music or acting, and explore how each choice made in each element all contribute to the movies you love.
Where do you find inspiration?I write down characters that I meet when I'm on the bus or in a talkative Uber, locations that would be good sets, quotes that I like and many other moments in my day to day life. When I get an idea that would be good as a movie I’ll call one of my friends to help me rough draft a script right then and there before I forget. My art is inspired by the little things I notice in my life, because films that move people remind us of ourselves, not what we post or who we admire, but who we really are.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would change my life. It would provide the resources I need to create the documentaries, short films and music videos I plan to make this summer. Another goal of mine is to create a film festival to enable others to express themselves the same way I learned to express myself. However, since I will be dedicated fully to these passion projects, I do not have the time for a job, meaning that each film would be extremely low budget and paid for with all the money I have saved up in my life.
