Art helps me breathe and feel spiritually beautiful. I use to hate trying to do anything. Now I want to show how beautiful creativity is.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
The art I like to create is mixed with Zen tangles and I like using chalk pastel because it feels like I have sand powers as I’m maneuver, the chalk to display, beautiful design designs. I like my art to tell the viewer the struggles and challenges I had to face as a black person trying to live in a corrupt society.
Where do you find inspiration?I keep going because I know there’s a girl that needs inspiration to see the happiness in this world passed all the negative that is highlighted. Grown-up I was bullied so much that I barely wanted to talk to people and I didn’t believe that I could find love. I had a little mindset about what I deserve and what I could give to the world. So I’m inspired to prove insecure people wrong so then they know that they can accomplish more and they could help someone else learn how to love themselves.
What would you do with $25,000?I would help my family get out of debt, pay rent a few months ahead of schedule and I would use that money to go on a well needed vacation cause I’ve never been out the country. I would use that money to pay for things that would bring me personal peace.
