Art that brings the viewer to the source of the art. It demands that I return, remain, negating hard fast structured thinking to push onward from want. But instead to return to Having through the process of listening to practical purpose saying 'apply this form, this line now, a vertical, this colour, contrast it, dab. The image beginning to reveal the intention from my past experiences. But showing me who was there all along.
Where do you find inspiration?Taking responsibility. Responsibility is freedom, but it hurts, it's falling and getting up and returning to some refuge, first learning where that is. All of anything I have seen, experienced through filter. I am sensitive. I can't force or steal a state of feeling safe or whole by seeking others to be what I need in any moment, many times you receive the opposite. Whether causality or a guiding experience, whether I created a good helpful story, then finding me, a space as real.
What would you do with $25,000?By entering shows/festivals, preparing booth displays, it would help make this art even more accessible. I would get to meet people who are sincerely looking for an entertaining playful bridge rather than a quick consolation. Winning would simply allow people to have you sanctify it and start the process of awareness of this art and openness to observing and interacting. I think people need confirmation.
