Art allows me to translate my experience into something others can connect with, building empathy through form, texture, and presence.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is sculptures that invite viewers to engage with disability, perception, and empathy through a personal lens.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my lived experience with visual impairment, and the broader realities of disability, drawing from personal challenges, perception, and the unseen details of everyday life to create work that fosters empathy and understanding.
What would you do with $25,000?If I received $25,000, I would invest it directly into my studio practice to expand my Art. The funds would support materials, studio time, and experimentation to create larger, more immersive pieces focused on people who live with any disability. This would allow me to reach broader audiences, continuing my goal of building empathy and understanding through art, allowing people to share experiences, be heard, and feel more comfortable and understood.
