After 28 years, I still chase life in ink and paint. Realism lets me freeze emotion, tell stories, and leave something that outlives me.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is realism. Portraits of people, animals, and scenery. I’m drawn to the challenge of capturing life as it feels, not just how it looks, and turning any surface into something that feels alive. I work across multiple mediums like tattooing, painting, and wood, each with its own challenges. Tattooing stands out because it becomes a permanent part of someone’s story. I enjoy transforming old materials into something new, showing that art can come from anything.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from the life I’ve lived. The struggles, the growth, and the transformation. After overcoming addiction, I gained clarity and a deeper understanding of people and their emotions. That journey inspires me to create with purpose, turning pain into meaning and capturing something real that others can feel and connect with.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would expand my business into a larger space to better support my artists and create opportunities for local creatives to showcase their work. I would also use part of it to offer art therapy classes for troubled youth and adults, giving them a safe, non-judgmental space to express themselves and find support. Having overcome my own struggles, I want to use art to help others heal and show that life can get better.
