I don’t think I have a favorite, but I have hovered mostly between photography, sculpting and oil/acrylic paintings. The photography helps me capture action candid moments, while the sculpting of clay helps me feel the asymmetrical pull of what emotion is felt. The painting of an image helps me visualize that which can’t be captured by camera. Things hidden beyond sight. Things imagined to be real.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m 39, I’m not that old but I’ve experienced life in ways fewer than 1% of this world has. Throughout my life I’ve had the luck of seeing the worst and the best of humanity from every side of life, from the battle fields in Iraq to the coffee villages deep in the mountains Honduras, I find myself inspired by the emotions pouring out of the souls of people eager to live for something or die for it. What transpired within a life that reached this final decision. What raw emotion tied your fate.
What would you do with $25,000?It’s hard to quantify the suffering going on in today’s world. It’s like the term “world peace” never existed. It’s not even uttered from the smallest corners of this world anymore. I’d find a way to support individuals locally and afar with it. Those needing the slightest push to keep moving forward. To help one another.
