Figurative painting is what I’m most drawn to. For me, it’s about bringing reality onto the canvas while still filtering it through my own perspective. It’s not just about what is seen, but what is felt. Through my work, I try to give a voice to those who go unheard, and presence to those society often overlooks. It’s rooted in realism, but it always carries my movement, my interpretation, my world, so each piece becomes both a reflection of reality and something deeply personal.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere, mostly in the streets, in everyday moments, in the presence of people. It’s an instinctive pull. I’m especially inspired by those who can fill a room with their presence, yet are often overlooked. Those are the stories I’m compelled to explore. I also learn deeply from other artists, those who search for truth rather than perfection. For me, inspiration is about recognizing truth and showing how powerful and beautiful it really is.
What would you do with $25,000?Keep painting and invest in making sure the work reaches further, so the stories behind it don’t stay unseen. I want more people to feel connected to these women, to recognize their presence and their power. It would also help me support my children and my family through something I truly believe in. At the heart of it, I would use it to make sure these voices are not overlooked, to give them space, visibility, and attention they deserve.
