I love to create bold and colorful paintings that bring joy to people of all ages. I really enjoy painting animals, flowers, and dancing woman. I use all different types of mediums in my work, which allows for a lot of freedom to create bold brushstrokes and vivid colors. I love creating mixed media art because of all the freedom to combine materials to bring to life something unique and meaningful.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my Mexican-American culture, my faith and my battle with depression. I’ve endured a lot of trauma in my life & I create art as an anthem of hope. Battling depression has shown me the depths of pain but also the vibrant joy life has to offer. I want to bring joy, hope and healing to others. I want to spread the message that diversity is beautiful and together we are better. Connection matters and relationships have the ability to heal us. I depict all this with my art.
What would you do with $25,000?I would give ten percent to an organization that has deeply impacted me and helped me with my depression- To Write Love on Her Arms. Then I would utilize the rest of the money to create an exhibit in the West Coast sharing my new series on different ecosystems that promotes conservation of animals and ecosystems.
