I create for storytelling and to communicate- so others can experience what's in my mind, and to make reality out of imagination.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I'm a Multimedia artist - I prefer not to stick to one medium and some of my favorites include: art direction & set design, film, photography, costume design & textiles, graphic design, and painting: digital, gouache, and watercolor. In an external way, I use these artforms to create immersive experiences for those who see my work. Most consistently though and for my own internal reasons, I like to document what I see, feel, and imagine through photography, collage, and photo manipulation.
Where do you find inspiration? It's hard to narrow it down, but I often pull from meaningful experiences: admiration for my family, memories from my childhood, films and other artists that I love, history or ancient places I'm fascinated with, a song that moved me, something small and beautiful that goes unnoticed, something I feel strongly about but can't explain, a vivid dream or nightmare, a strong pull to my faith. In particular, I've always been fascinated with surrealism, childhood, fantasy, and the human experience.
