My favorite type of art to create is using materials I already have. I very much love to paint but on different mediums or objects to create something almost brand new. I always love to find what I may have at home and think about turning it into something new before throwing it away. For example: I had an old TV that didn't work and was going to be thrown away. Instead I removed the black screen and hung it on the kitchen wall to be used as a paint chalkboard!
Where do you find inspiration?I tend to get hooked on specific subjects very easily such as songs or movies that I find might have deeper meaning in them. Often times I'll search more into those meanings and look at the history behind them and use art to try and describe to others what it all means. Almost like a fun history lesson! Other inspiration comes from wanting to simply create a personal piece for friends or family.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would first start with purchasing a car. After being diagnosed with epilepsy, I wasn't able to drive for over a year. After that, I would like to continue on with publishing more books that are not only fun but inspiring to people of all ages. Living near the Nelson-Atkins museum of art, I would also love to donate to the art community of Kansas City to keep the interest alive! I may also invest some money as well after learning about it so that I can help do more for others.
