I love making art because it has a voice that exists without language and allows me to shift from the mundane to the phenomenological.

I fell in love with Sound Art while in Grad school. I had the chance to create sound scapes using different types of music making - the one I enjoyed the most was the Moog Synthesizer. I began creating sound scapes that play in conjunction with some of my abstract oil pieces. Listening to music while I paint is also very important. One time while I was creating a painting, I listened to the same song on repeat for about 2 months until the piece was completed!
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the way light reflects and refracts on objects. I love to walk through a remote area and observe how the light is moving while listening to the different sounds that are being orchestrated around me. It's a symphony of color and sound!!
What would you do with $25,000?I have a lot of outstanding student debt that I would love to pay down. It was so amazing to be able to go to Art school at an older age but it's been difficult dealing with the debt that piled up while I was having such a life-changing experience. I don't want my kids to worry about or to incur any of my debt so it would be nice to pay some of that off. It would be a huge weight off my shoulders.
