Art was my sanctuary from a painful reality. It saved my life, and now it's how I appreciate life.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I have an intense passion for world-building, realism, and surrealism. Recently, I've been primarily drawing. I draw mainly with graphite, then ink and refine with a .25 mm gel pen. However, I love trying new media, styles, and subjects. After high school, I started studying digital art and video game creation. While I will always love and make traditional art for the rest of my life, I am excited to embark on the journey of game creation and its incredible possibilities for world building.
Where do you find inspiration?I find the wonder of nature and intensity of emotion immensely compelling. The natural world is full of beautiful forms, textures, colors, and sciences. Everything comes together with the flow of energy and life. Emotion is the conduit that allows us to connect and understand one another. I love contemplating the natures of the soul, the mind, and the perspectives of reality, both visually and philosophically.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly, this prize is more than I made at my primary job last year. It would make a huge difference. I'd put most of it into a savings account, with some going to living expenses. The majority of the money would be spent on expanding my art business. I will set up a website, sell originals and prints, and start taking more commissions. Alongside physical media, I will continue to study video game art, with the goal of one day starting my own studio.
