I create because it's the only valid thing in my life that I know how to do. Bleeding out all these images that exist only in my head.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I've always been drawn to the type of art you can't just hang on the walls of a Doctor's Office waiting room. ...Lowbrow Art. (Robert Williams, Ron English ..etc) Art that demands your attention. Art that make you think. Some may consider that more of a darker form of expression. But I've always just seen it as more HONEST.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my everyday life. There's so much going on around us at any time and it's just up to us to take notice of it. I'm a 25 year Licensed Psychiatric Nurse for the state. So many of my pieces are influenced by just peeking into the lives of these unfortunate individuals who we try to care for and keep safe. I find inspiration in heartbreak and in finding a visual outlet to bleed out so many frustrations and unspoken feelings.
What would you do with $25,000?I'd love to resurrect my 51 CHEVY Deluxe ratrod that's been sitting waiting patiently for the past few years. I've always wanted to visit Spain and the museum and tomb of one of my biggest art influences since childhood. ...Salvador Dali And I'd just like to put funds towards materials needed for even more creative projects currently on the backburner.
