What is your favorite type of art to create?

I'm drawn to work that feels like a ritual in motion-where sculpture, installation, and storytelling meet. Processions and parades become a framework: repeated forms, symbolic objects, and gestures that echo across cultures and time. Maritime folklore, fairytales. and seasonal rites offer a language of myth —women becoming waves, heroes, ceremonies, my artworks and subjects aren't just physical-they're carriers of memories.

Where do you find inspiration?

I realized that my ceramic characters were living out my wishes more courageously than I was. Instead of continuing to imagine transformation, I decided to embody it. My work shifted, into an otherworldly and ancient register. The art becomes populated not by autobiography, but by invented and inherited figures: fantastical keepsakers and mythic guardians. Characters drawn from my Grimm cosmology include Dreamchaser, Mary of the Sea, Guardian Angel for Sailors and Ahoi (Seafarer Parade)

What would you do with $25,000?

I’d treat it like both a creative and business investment, splitting it across creation, visibility, and sustainability, high-quality photography, video, editing and color correction, installation costs, lighting, transport, website upgrade, press, design of materials, social media ads and PR help. I use the grant like seed money to prepare more art, and set myself up for future exhibitions.
