Art is a place that allows me to create things from my imagination without being told what to do. It allows me to be TRULY free.

I love to create organic, free-flowing vignettes using yarn. The medium excites me because it isn't supposed to be used on a canvas and yet somehow it enhances the art. Yarn allows it to truly come off the paper and create a depth that doesn't seem real. Suddenly a portrait has three-dimensional layers that nothing else can replicate. This process is time-consuming and physically demanding, which makes the completion of each piece even more rewarding compared to any other medium.
Where do you find inspiration?Art is all I think about. In the most non-cliché way, I see it in everything. It comes from the feelings I'm going through and nature. It happens in the most random moments. As I'm falling asleep, a flower I saw earlier in the day suddenly turns into the complex image of a face surrounded by koi fish and flowers.
What would you do with $25,000?I love elephants and I am very passionate about helping them. I have always wanted to make an elephant piece and auction it for charity. I'd go to a rehabilitation center in Thailand to volunteer and create the piece while being out there. The money would obviously make this dream possible. I don't have a large following or a big name, so the exposure from this would make the charity auction possible.
