Art saved my life. The gang life almost ended my life but my dad purchased a camera and art supplies then my life began.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Paintings of urban landscapes, my neighborhoods. I also like to draw portraits of people living in my community
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from my efforts to give voice and space to the issues and people that impact communities of Kensington and North Philadelphia. Art saved my life and it has become my tool to express my life experiences on Canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?I will work on an exhibit that not only captures the visuals of living in Kensington/North Philadelphia but the exhibition will capture sounds, smells and voices. When people visit the exhibition I will creat an experience that will engage people at a different level. When people in power understand issues in communities dealing with poverty, food insecurity, violence and the failure of our elected leaders then we can begin to address and advocate for meaningful change.
