I love to create art because it is honestly just my natural way of self. It helps me show the world and myself the wildness in my brain.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art is screen printing. The results are endless. I typically work on fabric. Not only do I create a story to print on fabric but I always source fabric that already has a story. Like one time I re-purposed all of my dad’s work clothes. He works in concrete construction and there was a lot of clothes he wanted to discard. I took it all and made a beautiful textile collection inspired by his work.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in the people around me. My family, friends, and the unknown stories they have lived .
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would create a company. I spent some time working with a nonprofit organization that helped incredible artists, who happened to have a variety of intellectual disabilities, create and enhance their art. The program not only helps them achieve a higher level of artistic excellence but they also help sell and expose their art to as many people as possible. I was very inspired working with them, and would like to create something similar that involves Screenpriniting Art!
