Anything that speaks to the other misfits and weirdos in the world, no matter the medium. I prefer to use items that have been discarded, wood, metal, bricks, etc. that no longer serve their purpose and give them new life, and anything created in nature because it’s already perfectly made. Much the same with people. We’re not broken or imperfect and we can all be useful to one another.
Where do you find inspiration?In pain, in people and environments that try to dim the light we were all born with, in suffering, in not fitting in, in being a sober person in this world, in the inspiration I find in others making their way.
What would you do with $25,000?Rent a studio/work space; purchase materials so that I can offer free community art opportunities for people seeking recovery from alcohol and drugs or going through mental health challenges.
