Giovanna DiZurita

I create to heal and explore who I’m suppose to be. I paint the questions that guide me to the answers I look for and share with the world.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

Mixed media gives me the freedom to experiment and to hold the full range of thoughts and emotions my craft wants to express.

Where do you find inspiration?

In my individuation journey. After reading Carl Jung. I noticed that since I was a kid, I painted to try to make sense of my inner world & all my mental health journey started with art.

What would you do with $25,000?

My vision is to grow the impact art can have in the community, not only to help with the art classes or non profit donations but to expand that, part of the money would be going towards developing a program that brings together a mental health provider and myself to curate workshops where art and healing intersect, creating space for deep self-discovery. The other part would go towards getting an art therapy certification.
