I’ve been a musician all my life. I chose performing musicians as subjects and I use sculpture on top of the canvas which Photos don’t show
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to depict musicians performing on stage. I know what that feels like and I try to convey that feeling through my art. I won two awards for sculpture in 2002 and now I incorporate that into my wall art by sculpting on top of the canvas. Then I paint the entire piece. I believe it enhances realism and presence. I won second place for mixed media at an Art League in Illinois. I was also interviewed on CBS TV for my art on April 22, 2026.
Where do you find inspiration?Watching bands and artists perform and from my memories. There are some musical artists that I love to watch, some famous and some not. There is always a move or pose on stage and expressions that inspire either a part of a piece or the whole thing.
What would you do with $25,000?I would give half to a charity and the rest I would invest in my retirement. I am retired now and SS and a little savings is not that much to live on.
