Creating art is one of the most free and true acts one can do, in my opinion. I enjoy watching my mind become tangibly shareable.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I like to dance, paint, and story-tell (preferably all at the same time)
Where do you find inspiration? In my friends, family, & community. The understanding I have of my family and past. The understanding I have of history and our potential for the future. My doggies and the trees outside. Children. My mother and father’s resiliency, strength, and gentle compassion. Movements in the creeks downtown. Memories from my childhood. The local theatres. Johnny Depp, as well.
What would you do with $25,000?I would take my mother camping in her van, after getting it fixed for her. I would pay my rent for a year. I would maintain financial stability and go forward living with a bit more ease. My mother had a home, which was lost during the 2008 recession. Since 2013, she’s made $12,000 a year via disability. We lived in HUD housing when I was in high school and she still does today. I’d love to give my mama a little bit of a boost in her late life. (:
