My favorite work is vibrant acrylic paintings centered on wild animals. I’m drawn to capturing the small, intricate details, the textures and colors, that often go unnoticed. Through every line, shape, and color, I hope to create a deeper sense of connection and appreciation for the natural world.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in nature. The blues I paint are drawn from the richness of the sky on my drive to work, while the oranges come from the flowers I pass walking my dog. When I paint the eyes of animals, I’m inspired by the people and animals in my own life. In each reflection of light, I aim to capture a piece of their soul.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the funding to invest in my art practice and expand my ability to create and share my work. This would include upgrading materials and equipment, building a stronger online presence, and creating a cohesive body of work for exhibitions. I would also use part of it to support opportunities that connect art and community through events, like gallery exhibitions and art markets, that invite others to engage with nature through creativity.
