I express myself and my views on the world through what I create. It's true freedom, a way for me to unburden myself when I feel helpless.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My most used mediums are pencil, oil paint, and acrylic paint. I enjoy working on canvas, paper, or wood and generally only create 2D art. When it comes to my art, I love to be creative and try new things to step out of my comfort zone. Although I frequent portraiture and landscape, I find the most fun in my work when I just free myself from the typical and do whatever I feel like.
Where do you find inspiration?Honestly, it's hard to find inspiration most of the time. I struggle, procrastinate, and just stress myself out about everything. But all those feelings I go through every day turned into what made me want to create. That feeling of finishing something, of having people acknowledge what I worked hard on, it's like a weight lifted off of my shoulders. I stopped focusing on every little negative thing and chose to channel it through my art instead.
What would you do with $25,000?It's hard to imagine getting that kind of money. I want to say I know exactly how I would use it, but I'm not totally sure. I know I would put some towards my education, I'm trying to get into an art institution. The rest I can imagine would be put towards my art, my home, and my family. Everyone around me has spent so much trying to provide me with the supplies I needed. I just don't want to waste what they have given me by doing nothing with the spark they have been trying to nurture.
