My art is a literal representation of myself and my experiences, but also a way to tell stories. As an Art therapy Grad student, I learn!

I love working with digital art, mainly to explore and learn, but I also love mixed media. I enjoy doing washes with watered down acrylic, overlays with charcoal, or pasting for collage. Mixed media is what I enjoy most, but when it comes to what I find myself doing for my own peace of mind, I stick to pencil and pen.
Where do you find inspiration?I enjoy creating art that uses symbolism from stories I encountered growing up. I’m from the American Midwest, where folklore and history go hand in hand and we encounter immigrated stories on every block. From the Voyageurs of the French Canadian trading companies, to the isolated military encampment in Copper Harbor, to the Legend of the Ladyslipper, the stories I grew up hearing inspired me to create art that shares them with the world.
What would you do with $25,000?Ignoring my crippling student debt and the housing crisis, I’d want to use it for advocating for mental health care in rural communities. I live with my grandma up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and I’m seeing firsthand how little quality healthcare they have access to. I’m positive they aren’t the only community affected, either. Many people in rural areas have to travel over an hour to get quality care.
