I love creating art because it lets me express what words can’t, turn ideas into something real, and feel free, curious, and fully alive.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art form is bricolage. There is a distinct beauty in resourcefulness—taking disparate, found materials and weaving them into something entirely new. Unlike working with a pristine canvas, bricolage is about improvisation and the history of the objects themselves. It’s the art of "making do," proving that profound expression doesn't require "perfect" tools, just the vision to see how mismatched pieces can belong together.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration lives at the intersection of utility and history. I find it in the grit of community resilience—seeing how people gather fragmented resources to build something that lasts. There is also beauty in legacy and craftsmanship, like the way a restored object or a handmade textile carries a story across generations. Ultimately, I'm moved by the quiet power of service: the idea that the most meaningful "art" is often functional and built from the pieces we choose to save.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, I would launch a community repair hub that treats restoration as an art form. The plan is to secure a workshop space where the act of fixing—from bicycles to textiles—becomes a practice in functional bricolage. By hosting repair clinics, we can mentor neighbors to see the "art" in the broken, transforming discarded items into unique, restored assets. It’s an investment in creative sustainability, proving that resourcefulness is the most beautiful craft of all.
