I work with acrylics and watercolors to create art at the intersection of realism and impressionism, in the space of memory. I love to capture real scenes in a colorful, playful, imaginative way. These paintings are an invitation into presence, to honor and celebrate the gifts found in the ordinary moments of our lives.
Where do you find inspiration?My creative process combines reflections and meditations that live in my heart, the profound joy I find in playing with color, shape, and texture, and moments that call out to me in the world around me. These swirl together in my spirit until I get a mental picture of what I will paint. Then, I work from real-life scenes to develop my composition. I'm inspired by the gifts that are the people and places in my life, and my art reflects their own beauty back to them.
What would you do with $25,000?Within the last year, I took the leap of faith to begin my career as an artist. I feel a deep, spiritual sense of calling that this is what I was made for. Our world needs beautiful art right now; it is healing & life-giving. This $25,000 would be a great investment into my craft, equipping my artistry for future growth. I believe that whenever we receive a blessing, its purpose is to be multiplied to others. Receiving this $25,000 would help me continue multiplying beauty back into the world.
