I love to create art because it lets you express part of you that people don’t get to see in everyday life. Art becomes a meditation.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is photography. I really love the analog film process of photography because it makes you really think what you’re taking a picture of because there’s no going back or deleting. And in this digital world, it’s nice to take that step back and really concentrate on what you take pictures of.
Where do you find inspiration?I find a lot of inspiration in nature and the macabre . I love spooky things, and I love everything that nature does so my work really invokes a very creepy or unsettling feeling as it draws parallels between the body and nature with themes of witchcraft and spookiness.
What would you do with $25,000?I am a art teacher at a public school in New York so I would use the $25,000 to improve my school’s art setup by getting new materials for my students to use so I can give back to my school community.
