My work is the only thing that makes sense to me and fills me with joy— I turn trauma and catastrophe into something that glimmers.

Stained glass sings in a way that many mediums don't. It's intrinsic relationship with something as effervescent and temporal as light means you're almost certain to never see the same piece twice. The light changes, the space changes, and we change. I started as a painter, I try to paint regularly and painting still feels like home. But glass feels...ethereal. And playing with the rules is a thrill-- my crown is my favorite piece. Who knew you could wear stained glass?
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in the natural world and in the ways that light touches me every single day. Nature reminds me that this, too, shall pass when things are too tough to take, and warm dappled sunlight through trees feels like a kiss on my forehead from some heavenly Mother. I am fortunate in having the ability to explore my work in order to materialize items that people can also grow and reflect with. My natural curiosity and excitement for the work keeps me compelled and dogged.
What would you do with $25,000?My partner & I are hoping to buy our first home soon, and that's a dream enough-- but if I really dreamed big? I'd love to upgrade all of my hand-me-down tools, and find some way to invest some of the money in my community.
