I create art to keep my mind in balance with the craziness that goes on around me. It helps to keep me grounded in the moment.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to make all sorts of art, but the one type of art that spoke to me the most was fiber art! I found crochet and it changed the meaning of ART for me. It became something tangible vs something stagnant. Crochet is a whole new ballgame of creativity!
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration has always come from a need or want for something. I hear someone say they need to go shopping for a new sweater and I instantly think “what could I make for them?” I have always loved creating with my hands so being able to see someone wearing an item that started from a thought then quite literally weaved into reality is a feeling that warms my whole being!
What would you do with $25,000?There are two things I would do. The first would be to put money down on a house. I have 4 boys ranging from the ages of 13 to 1 years old. They need a space to grow up in that we can call our own. The second thing I would do would bring this into a full circle for me because I would start a small business for my crochet! As any artist would wish, I want to be able to sell my art and make a name for myself in the fiber art’s community!
