I create because I need to. We all need to create something to be able to navigate and tolerate this world in our own unique way.

I create art that gets out all the dirt and grime weighing on my heart and mind, and treat the canvas as a journal. My paintings combine illegible text and grunge textures to create visceral atmospheres. Each painting has some script, some grit, and some dark secrets.
Where do you find inspiration? My struggle to cope with past trauma inspires me and instructs my work. Each piece dives into a memory, an emotion, a feeling that I try to understand and come to peace with. By sitting with it, working with it, and putting my hands and heart to use, I try to create something beautiful out of darkness.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in my studio space and local art community - some small gallery spaces that want to give artists a chance deserve some startup to help them on their mission. Also investing a little in my own studio space would help my practice have a safe environment to let out all these emotions in my own creative way.
