I’m drawn to a fusion of figurative realism and abstract expressionism, where the human form meets the shifting tides of emotion. Through this blend, I try to honour the truth of lived experience while tracing the quiet, powerful ways global events shape the inner world.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from my own identity from the journey of being a first‑generation immigrant, from my Filipino heritage, from the shifting landscape of my mental health, and from the world unfolding around me.
What would you do with $25,000?If I receive the $25,000 award, I will use it to create an Arts Centre for my community — a space especially for the children and teenagers in my small town. I want to build a place where they can feel safe, seen, and heard as they make art and express themselves. This centre will nurture their creativity, strengthen their skills, and support their growth as young artists finding their voice.
