Since I was 10 I wanted my art to tell stories that would change the way people view the world and the beautiful people in it
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is cinematic photography and storytelling that feels emotionally honest and visually powerful. I love creating images and films that center Black beauty, imagination, family, and human emotion in ways that feel timeless. Whether it’s a fashion portrait, short film, or documentary concept, I want people to feel something real when they experience my work.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in everyday people, old family photos, music, conversations, memories, and the overlooked moments of life. Black culture, resilience, and creativity inspire me deeply. Films like Moonlight showed me how intimate storytelling can feel universal. I’m also inspired by light, color, dreams, and the idea that art can help people feel seen.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest the $25,000 into building sustainable opportunities through my photography and filmmaking. I’d upgrade equipment, fund short films, rent studio space, market my work, and create projects that highlight underrepresented stories and communities. I’d also use part of it to support my family and create opportunities for young creatives who may not have access to resources or mentorship.
