I use art to create what I want to see and then I share what I love creating with others in hope to inspire others to create !
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love black and white photography because I feel it captures mood and emotion in a way color sometimes cannot. It strips everything down to light, shadow, and feeling, allowing the raw essence of a moment to stand on its own. Without color, the viewer is drawn more deeply into the details—the expressions, contrasts, and quiet intensity within each frame. Much of my work is inspired by New York City—the movement, the solitude within crowds, and the contrast between chaos and stillness.
Where do you find inspiration?I find much of my inspiration was brought up from my dad and sister who were artists, and I was always surrounded by creativity. My dad often photographed me and my sisters, teaching me the value of preserving time and emotion. I was drawn to many forms of art, but photography stood out because of its ability to freeze time. My passion grew in college studying journalism, where I began using a professional camera and learned to be more present and intentional in my work.
What would you do with $25,000?If I were to receive $25,000, my first priority would be to support my family and close friends who have supported me throughout my journey. Giving back to them would mean the most to me. I will then begin to travel so I can continue developing my black and white photography and capturing real, human moments, while building more intentional creative projects that reflect my perspective.
